Boxer was the popular name given to members of a secret organization called the Society of Harmonious Fists. They practiced a system of exercise-a form of shadowboxing, or boxing with an imaginary opponent-that they thought would protect them from bullets. The Boxers were upset by foreign takeover of Chinese lands. Their slogan was "destroy the foreigner." At the beginning of 1900, Boxer bands roamed the countryside and slaughtered foreign missionaries and Chinese Christians, whom they especially hated because they seemed to threaten Chinese traditions. The Chinese government was forced to pay a heavy payment for damages to the powers that had crushed the uprising, which made the imperial government weaker than ever.

The boxer rebellion was filled with boxers who became a popular name given to members of a secrete organization called teh Society of Harmonious Fists. The boxers practiced with a shadow person so in the future they could dodge bullets in a war or fight. The boxers pretty much hated the Christian missionaries, so in the future they roamed the countryside and killed foreign missionaries in and Chinese Christians. Because of the killing a huge allied army that consisted of British, French, German, Russian, America, adn Japanese armies to attack Beijing. With all the destruction chinese government had to pay a indemnity for all the damage. Since then the imperial government is very weak.
